VMware released the final version of Fusion 3.1

VMware has released the final version of Fusion 3.1 - virtualization software platform for Mac OS X, which allows you to create and run virtual machines for working with applications, Windows, Linux and Solaris.

Performance product grew by 35%. Changes apparent in the performance of most standard operations, including launching applications, scrolling the screen, the resumption of work after the suspension, as well as reading and writing data to disk.

Fusion 3.1 supports hardware accelerated graphics with OpenGL 2.1 library in the guest Windows 7 and Vista. Speed of processing 3D-graphics has increased 5 times compared to previous versions. The product is also recommended by the specialists of Autodesk as a virtualization platform, suitable for launching a new version of CAD package, AutoCAD 2011.

The new EasyConnect provides enhanced peripheral USB-purpose equipment. Also, the application can "remember" user preferences settings and activate them on subsequent connections. Users will be able to create more powerful virtual machine that supports up to 8 processors in SMP-configuration and virtual disk drives up to 2 terabytes.

Fusion 3.1 has a more functional user interface, expanded support for Boot Camp and greater compatibility with popular technologies Unity, Exposé and Dock Exposé. The list of supported guest operating systems include Linux-distros Ubuntu 8.0.4.4 and 10.04, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop on 11 and Enterprise Server 1911 and RHEL 5.4 (a 32-bit and 64-bit versions).

Owners of registered copies of Fusion 3.0 will be able to upgrade the product to the new version for free.
