Microsoft extends official support for Windows XP until 2020

Microsoft has announced that users of certain editions of Windows 7 will retain the possibility to use Windows XP in the next 10 years.Previously, Microsoft had planned to limit the terms of a possible return to the Windows XP six months since the release of Windows 7, then the appointed time was extended to 18 months and the last date he was appointed the day of release of the first service pack of Windows 7 SP1.
However, the plans were changed. The new solution, users of Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate editions will go back to Windows XP Professional on the lifecycle of Windows 7, namely, until January 2020. The editors XP Ultimate Edition will become available until January 2015.
At the conference, Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), held in Washington, Microsoft executives confirmed that 74% of business PCs still run under Windows XP.
The decision is valid for OEM-copies of Windows 7, which are established computer manufacturers on new equipment. This means that organizations and ordinary consumers will be able to buy new computers and exercise their right to return to Windows XP and Vista as long as they are not ready to transition to Windows 7
Other deadlines set by Microsoft's Windows, will remain in force. The computers will not install Windows XP Home for netbooks in October 2010, a year later the market will no longer do computers preloaded with Vista.
